Parametric studies on the workability and compressive strength properties of geopolymer concrete

Abstract: Geopolymer concrete is a booming technology in the construction industry. Much research is occurring in geopolymer concrete, as it emits low carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, is eco-friendly material and is an alternative for cement. This research mainly focuses on the use of fly ash based geopolymer concrete in ambient curing conditions and the use of manufactured sand due to the scarcity of natural sand. Mainly studies have evolved on the workability, setting time and compressive strength by the effect of … Show more

“…To achieve this, it is critical first to understand how the various constituents of AAC affect its setting and strength development. The main factors influencing the setting and strength behavior of AAC are binder content, alkali to binder ratio, activating solution’s concentrations and ratios, and water content [ 13 , 14 , 15 ].…”

“…Alkali activated slag (AAS) is gaining huge attention in the construction industry due to its viability to serve as a sustainable alternative binder to Portland cement (PC) [1][2][3][4][5][6]. Though AAS was developed in 1957 in USSR [7], rapid research, development and application have ensued in the last two decades.…”
