Corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus (SARS-CoV-2). It emerged as a global pandemic in early 2020, affecting more than 200 countries and territories. As SARS-CoV-2 has also been identified in the saliva of infected individuals, it poses a significant risk for dental professionals and their patients. This article focuses on the changes which are to stay in the wake of COVID-19 especially with respect to orthodontic practice. It is important to have a thorough knowledge about handling the procedures and emergencies in the current scenario or in the wake of an unprecedented future lockdown. Practitioners must anticipate and be prepared for the effects of unsupervised orthodontic treatment in the wake of unprecedented suspension of elective treatment due to COVID 19. This literature also focuses on publications regarding this new corona virus and supplies valuable indications to professionals concerning protective and preventive measures that can be adopted. Orthodontically relevant sources of information were searched using electronic databases including PubMed and Google Scholar, Scopus and SciELO. As keywords, the terms "Orthodontics" and "Covid-19" were used in English. Where available, peer-reviewed and more recent publications were given priority.

Aim: To find out infection control practices among orthodontists in Punjab, Pakistan during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This cross sectional study was conceived from 1.6.2020 to 1.1.2021. A pre-designed proforma was used to find out the infection control practices in orthodontics. Each pre-designed proforma consisted of 10 questions about infection control. The pre-designed proforma was distributed among 50 orthodontists. The response rate was 100%. Results: The results showed that most of the orthodontists were up-dated and in practice of using proper infection control measures while COVID-19. Gloves, PPE, Protective eye wears and face shields were worn by most of the respondents. Most of them were using proper disinfection and sterilization measures. Conclusion: The knowledge and practices of infection control in orthodontics was appropriate and up to standards during COVID-19. Key words: Infection Control; Orthodontics

The term, Dentistry 4.0, coincides with Industry 4.0, in which the traditional methods of manufacturing and information are made more precise to enhance process efficiency by using automation and advanced computer technologies. The main of this paper is to discuss the major potential of Dentistry 4.0 technologies in the field of dentistry during Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic. Thereon, Dentistry 4.0 is advancing on its way with the use of advanced technologies in dentistry. Dental healthcare makes an essential part of the overall health of the masses. New technological advancements are essential to make the dentist work quicker, patient comfortable, and process reliable. So, we introduced the concept of Dentistry 4.0 to improve efficiency and impart innovation in dentistry during this pandemic. This paper briefs about the Dentistry 4.0 technologies helpful for the COVID-19 pandemic. Further discusses various issues and challenges in implementing Dentistry 4.0 for dentistry during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the paper identifies and discussed fifteen significant applications of Dentistry 4.0 technologies for dentistry during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the onset of the pandemic, globally, the healthcare sector is taking initiatives to strengthen affordable and high-speed data connectivity. This up-gradation and investment will also help dentists to access patients' data from smaller towns or villages using Dentistry 4.0 technologies. Thus, globally there is the onset of the fourth dentistry revolution, and we understand that this will change the trend of dentistry during and post-COVID-19 Pandemic. Dentistry 4.0 technologies are helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic to create teledentistry, virtual clinical practice and connect all dental devices to improve health conditions. This approach is to help progress towards the integrated capabilities, patient-centric remedies with predicted results in an easier way than the traditional way of the health care industry.
