Abstract: Background: Cyckooxygenase 2 (Cox-2) plays a key role in progression and survival of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) through regulation of apoptosis, angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis. We have previously shown that carriers of a common polymorphism in the 3`-UTR of the Cox-2 gene have increased risk of NSCLC.
