Abstract: The Seismology Section presented the following outstanding student paper awards at the 1998 AGU Spring Meeting in Boston, Mass., last May. Shu‐Huei Hung presented a paper titled “Can a Low‐velocity Column of High Melt Concentration be Hidden Beneath the East Pacific Rise?” Shu‐ Huei received a B.S. in geology in 1991 and an M.S. in geophysics in 1993 from National Taiwan University.
