“…Since then, the other groups also reported liquid crystalline phthalocyanine-fullerene dyads [23,25,29], and we further found that 6 PcCu-C 60 [36]. It was established at the first time by using our developed two X-ray diffraction methods in our previous work [36] that the disk-like Pc parts pile up to form columns, which are aligned homeotropically between two glass plates, and the spherical C 60 parts pile up helically around the Pc columns.…”

“…Each of the (C n S) 6 PcCu-C 60 dyads shows perfect homeotropic alignment in the Col ho mesophase between two glass plates for n = 14, 16, 18 and also on a glass plate for n = 14, although none of the parent Pc compounds (C n S) 8 PcCu and the Pc precursors (C n S) 6 PcCu-OH and (C n S) 6 PcCu-OFBA shows homeotropic alignment. It may be attributed to the strong affinity between fullerene and glass surface.…”

“…Thin film photodegradation is noted by their use as n-type conductors in photovoltaics [10][11][12] and their use as photooxidants for various substances via superoxide formation. 21 -23 Thus, reversible photoreduction is suggested as a major component of the anaerobic photodegradation mechanism for the perylene di-imide dyes.…”

“…Zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) is an organic semiconductor compound (Eley 1948), which is used as a photosensitizer for Photodynamic therapy (PDT) (Fadel et al 2010;Ping et al 2016); and in optoelectronic applications such as organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) (Run-Da et al 2013;Heo et al 2013) and organic photovoltaics (OPVs) (Kim and Bard 2004). The size effect on the electrical and optical properties of metal-free phthalocyanine nanoparticles have been studied using the physical method such as mechanical grinding, it's found that as the material's size gets smaller their photoconductivity efficiency was improved (Saito et al 1991).…”
