A: Na, K). -Single crystals of the new compound KCuMoO 4(OH) are hydrothermally synthesized from aqueous solutions of Cu(NO3)2 and K2MoO4 (autoclave, 433 K followed by slow heating to 493 K in 240 h). The new compound is isotypic with the already-known NaCuMoO 4(OH), and comprises chains of Cu 2+ ions in edge-sharing CuO4(OH)2 octahedra. KCuMoO4(OH) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with Z = 4 (single crystal XRD). Its magnetic properties are different from those of the Na-analogue because of different orbital arrangements. KCuMoO 4(OH) is a one-dimensional antiferromagnet. -(NAWA*, K.; YAJIMA, T.; OKAMOTO, Y.; HIROI, Z.; Inorg. Chem. 54 (2015) 11, 5566-5570, http://dx.doi.org/10.1021/acs.inorgchem.5b00686 ; Inst.
