Optimal Power Flow Control in Parallel Operating AC and DC Distribution Links

Abstract: DC links with back to back voltage source converters are usually built alongside the existing medium voltage ac distribution grids for infrastructure reinforcement. The distribution network operators need to run multiple of such parallel ac and dc links between two substations at optimal efficiency. This paper shows that the active power steering capability of the dc link can be used to dynamically vary the share of power flow in the ac link such that the system operating efficiency is maximized for varying po… Show more

“…The IGBT module from Infineon Technologies, FF450R33T3E3BPSA1-ND with a withstand voltage of 3.3 kV is used. The capacitor of KEMET, ALS71C133QT500-ND with 500 V and 13 mF is considered to provide a submodule capacitance of approximately 3.3 mF in accordance to the MMC designed in [23], [24] based on the method presented in [25].…”

“…For indicators that are difficult to collect or measure Try not to select, so as to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the evaluation index data. (5) The principle of comparability: the indicators in the evaluation system for the construction of the power Internet of things need to be unified and standardized, so that they can maintain the same trend after processing, so as to ensure the comparability between indicators [11][12].…”
