Abstract: This paper develops an optical power limiter (OPL) utilizing dye-doped nematic liquid crystals (NLCs) in a twisted nematic configuration designed to protect charged-coupled devices from intense light damage. The device harnesses the intrinsic optical properties of NLCs, enhanced by dye doping, to control light transmission without external electric fields.
