PurposeDigitalisation is reshaping the learning process, shifting it towards personalisation and online learning, and fuelling the growth of massive open online courses (MOOCs) and micro-credentials. Despite being a popular global trend, limited studies have looked at micro-credentials and their impact on learners' behavioural outcomes. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of programme design factors on learning experience, as well as the inter-relationships between programme design, learning experience and behavioural responses (e.g. engagement and willingness to pay more (WTPM)) towards micro-credentials. In addition, the study aims to investigate learning enjoyment as a moderator.Design/methodology/approachA survey questionnaire was used to collect data from 354 respondents who are working adults living in the major economic states in Malaysia. Data analysis was performed using the analysis of a moment structures (AMOS) statistical software and SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) PROCESS macro.FindingsThe results show the significance of programme design factors (i.e., flexibility, system quality and content quality) in determining the learning experience. The learning experience is found as a mediator in the relationship between programme design factors and learner engagement and WTPM. In addition, the moderation assessment confirms that enjoyment during learning strengthens the relationship between experience and behavioural responses.Originality/valueThis study is amongst a few selected studies that focus on engagement in and WTPM for micro-credentials. In addition, it emphasises the mediating role of the learning experience and the moderating role of enjoyment in understanding the impact of programme design on learners' experiences and behavioural responses.

Knowledge and information are crucial to any society's progress; hence the level of education and awareness of its citizens directly affects that progress. In this economy, various factors come into play, such as the availability of educated and skilled workers, the development of novel and efficient systems, and the state of the information infrastructure. The recent epidemic, which prompted widespread lockdowns and restrictions, will continue to be felt for decades. The repercussions of such events have been most noticeable among educators and their students. Thus online education is need of the hour to make sure quality education reaches to each corner of the world on timely basis. So the assessment of digital learning platform in higher education institutions of India is the primary topic of this research. This study examines the various facets of student satisfaction as well as the future of online learning. 460 responses were collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire in a randomly selected online survey. The R programming language was used to do a partial least squares structural equation modeling analysis on the data in R studio. Based on the findings of the study, it is clear that both students and teachers will be able to adapt throughout the course of time, and it is possible that the teaching-learning process will evolve into a hybrid form of education.

The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted Indonesian students to transition from traditional to online learning. The role of parents, both career and non-career, in focusing on paying attention to their children's learning has also changed. The study aimed to compare learning attention between parents with careers and parents without careers before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This study was a comparative design with a questionnaire as the instrument. The variable measured is elementary school children's learning attention. A total sampling technique was employed, involving 64 respondents. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test were used in data analysis. The findings indicated a significant difference in the learning attention of parents with careers before and after the COVID-19 pandemic (p-value = 0.000). Similarly, parents without careers also exhibited a significant difference in learning attention before and after the pandemic (p-value = 0.000). Notably, within both the career and non-career parent groups, there was a substantial difference in the learning attention provided to their children before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. These results highlight the significant impact of the pandemic on parental involvement in their children's education. The findings emphasize the need for parents to be conscious of their responsibilities in the face of the unique demands posed by the pandemic, underlining the crucial role they play in supporting their children's education.
