“…Tree canopy cover ranged from <5% for a site established in a heavily dominated grassland ecosystem at the SW end of the transect (Mitchell grassland) to 50% for a woodland savanna occurring ∼80 km away from the coast at the NE end of the transect (Saiz et al, 2015a).
