More than 20 isolated reefs of the Rybkinsky group were discovered in 2015-2018 in the eastern part of the Rubezhinsky Trough, west of the Sol-Iletsky Arch (Orenburg region; southern part of Volga-Ural Oil and Gas Province), thanks to the use of seismic surveys 3D and exploration drilling. The interval of the stratigraphic distribution of the reefs encompasses Domanik, Rechitsky and Voronezh Horizons (=Regional Stages) of the Franian Stage of Upper Devonian. The reefs are cased and overlapped by carbonate-terrigene-clay deposits of the Kolganian Formation that form the seal. High-amplitude oil fields (up to 150 m high) are related to the bodies of reefs. Reefs developed under conditions of significant changes in sea level caused by both eustatic fluctuations and regional tectonics. Actual data on features of surface and deep karst in different reefs of the Rybkinsky group are given. Three karst epochs are allocated: 1) late Domanikian; 2) late Rechitskian; 3) late Voronezhian. Evidences of the post-franian hydrothermal karst in the reefs are presented. Reservoirs formed as a result of karst are characterized by high complexity of pore space. Reef reservoirs have a scale permeability effect that is necessary to consider in hydrocarbon reserve calculations.

Background. The carbonate rocks represented by organogenic structures of the Voronezh horizon (D3vr) at the Volostnovsky, Vostochno-Volostnovsky and Yuzhno-Volostnovsky fields in the northern part of the East-Orenburg oil and gas bearing region of the Volga-Ural oil and gas bearing province are studied.Aim. To establish a connection between the structures of lithological types of carbonate rocks and their reservoir properties within the organogenic structures of the Voronezh horizon at the Volostnovsky, Vostochno-Volostnovsky and Yuzhno-Volostnovsky deposits.Materials and methods. Stock materials on the geological structure of the northern part of the Vostochno-Orenburg district were used. Histograms of the distribution of porosity and permeability values were constructed. A petrophysical model was proposed followed by its verification and analysis.Results. Data on the filtration-capacitance properties of carbonate rocks were analyzed. Histograms reflecting changes in porosity and permeability for individual zones of organogenic structures were constructed. A petrophysical model describing the relationship between the lithological characteristics of rocks of the selected zones and their reservoir properties was proposed. The model was verified based on the data on the Volostnovsky site and neighboring deposits.Conclusion. The carbonate reservoirs of the Voronezh horizon are characterized by a complex structure with degraded reservoir properties. This information should be taken into account when developing deposits to ensure an increase in geological oil reserves and an extended service life of wells.

Background. The Rubezhinsky Trough has been remained one of the most poorly studied petroleum areas of the Orenburg region to date. At present, Gazprom Neft conducts systematic exploration work within the trough at five license areas of the South Orenburg Cluster. Aim. The purpose of this article is representation of preliminary new dates on a geological structure of paleozoic reef systems within the Rubezhinsky Trough. Materials and methods. The main original materials for the work are the results of the interpretation of the 3D seismic carried out at four license areas. In addition, results drilling and regional sedimentation models were involved for analysis. Results. Regional models of Upper Paleozoic reef systems of the Rubezhinsky Trough have been extensively detailed as a result of the interpretation of 3-D seismic data within the South Orenburg cluster. It was first established that isolated reefs were formed in the interval of the Ardatovian and Mullinian regional stages (Givetian Stage of Middle Devonian) of the research area. Ardatovian-mullinian isolated reefs are covered with clay deposits and represent potential lithological traps for petroleum deposits. Isolated reefs, isolated carbonate platforms and the southern margin of the vast South-Buzuluk carbonate platform with barrier reef systems have been identified for the Frasnian Stage. Isolated frasnian reefs are potential hydrocarbon traps. Barrier frasnian reefs together with increasing them early famennian ones form a series of structural hydrocarbon traps in the overlapping complexes. The significant progradation of the margin of the famennian carbonate platform towards the Pre-Caspian paleobasin is established. Famennian progradation complexes form several large clinoforms which are potentially forward looking for the search for structural-lithological petroleum traps. The barrier reef system has been confirmed for the evaporite-carbonate complex of the Okskian regional stage. Okskian reefs border the late visean epicratonic carbonate platform. Relatively large reefs of the carbonate platform barrier system were identified in the interval from Podolskian regional stage (Carboniferous) to Asselian Stage (Permian). This barrier system has progradational architectures towards the Pre-Caspian paleobasin that was formed from the end of the Middle Carboniferous to the end of the Artinskian Age of the Early Permian. Podolskian-asselian barrier buildings predefine the development of structural hydrocarbon traps of various sizes in overlapping Lower Permian deposits. Conclusions. A preliminary analysis of 3-D seismic data indicates the significant role of the paleozoic reef systems in the formation of the sedimentary complex of the Rubezhinsky trough.
