Nutritional assessment and adequacy of dietary intake in hospitalized patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis

Abstract: Nutritional assessment and adequacy of spontaneous dietary intake was evaluated in thirty-seven clinically stable hospitalized patients with alcoholic liver cirrhosis. About two-thirds of the patients had ascites or oedema, or both, and, therefore, body weight could not be used for assessment of nutritional status.
