What is known on the subject?:• Humanizing the world of health is a complex process that includes all the dimensions of the person. When a person has from a mental illness, the humanization of care becomes more important, as the disorder itself prevents the person to participate in their health process, even when showing self-harm or aggressive behaviours.• These situations jointly with other factors related with professionals (insufficient ratio, inadequate treatment or lack of training) may cause the patient admitted to the acute psychiatric hospitalization unit to require the use of restrictive measures (involuntary admissions, mechanical restraints or forced administration of medication). What the paper adds to existing knowledge?:• We identify the relevance of the perception the patient and family have regarding the care received, as well as the relevance of factors related to the professionals, among which the attitude, the staff ratio, the nursing time of direct dedication, and the therapeutic environment and safety of the patient and the professionals. All patients must be treated with dignity, respect, regardless of the aggressive manifestations caused by their pathology. What are the implications for practice?:• A greater understanding of the care offered to admitted people affected by a mental disorder, their families and professionals who care for them in acute mental health units, giving greater importance to "caring" and not exclusively to "curing."

Objectives: to know how people with tuberculosis undergoing treatment exercise their rights throughout daily life while experiencing illness. Methods: this qualitative study was developed from April to May 2015, with people with tuberculosis undergoing treatment in an outpatient clinic of the Municipal Tuberculosis Control Program in the city of Pelotas. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and verified by content analysis, under the thematic modality. Results: people announced aspects that involved human rights pertaining to their experiences, and they had difficulties to achieve full rights to dignity, health, social security, and social services. Such rights were neither guaranteed by the State nor by their families. Final Considerations: it is necessary for health professionals and services to inform and equip people with tuberculosis, directly or indirectly, for the full exercise of their rights.

Dessa forma, a literatura tem demonstrado que enfermeiros vivenciam, em menos ou mais intensidade, sofrimento moral, principalmente relacionado a situações em que não consegue, por exemplo, desenvolver um cuidado humanizado ou que não consegue advogar por um paciente.…”

Objetivo: o presente estudo buscou tecer reflexão acerca da atuação do enfermeiro no exercício da advocacia ao paciente frente à atual conjuntura de serviços de saúde no Brasil. Para o profissional de Enfermagem a advocacia em saúde ainda está sendo acrescida como função, a fim de promover e defender os interesses e o bem-estar do paciente, assegurando que ele detenha o conhecimento dos seus direitos e acesso às informações, melhorando a sua saúde. Discutir sobre as dificuldades e desafios éticos da profissão do enfermeiro, sobretudo a atividade de advogar pelo usuário, deveria ser intrínseco às práticas diárias de saúde realizadas, principalmente durante a formação acadêmica. É possível concluir que a Enfermagem tem um caminho a percorrer no que concerne à advocacia do paciente, para que futuramente possa alicerçar essa atividade à sua prática diária.
