Abstract: A b s t r a c t A 3D finite element method is used to analyze the expansion process of solid expandable tube. The tube is modeled as a deformable body with plastic kinematic hardening material behavior. It is found that expansive force increases with the increase of friction coefficient, also there exists optimal mandrel semi-cone angle and sizing zone length to make expansive force to be minimal.
