We document the taxonomic diversity of medium-sized and large mammals present in Rancho Experimental Teseachi, a teaching and research facility of the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua located in the northwestern part of Chihuahua, Mexico. Monthly samplings were made with lineal transects of 5 km in two habitats, open grassland and pine-oak forest, where camera-traps and scent-stations were placed, and tracks were searched. Sixteen species of medium-sized and large mammals were recorded in the area, representing 12.03% of the state’s diversity. The greatest diversity was found in the pine-oak forest. Implementing three different sampling techniques at the same time allows the documentation of mammal diversity more efficiently than using only one or two sampling techniques.

En la presente nota se reporta el registro fotográfico del zorrillo manchado (Spilogale gracilis) y dos especies con una categoría de “Amenazadas” de acuerdo con la NOM-059, el Tejón americano (Taxidea taxus) y el cacomixtle norteño (Bassariscus astutus) como evidencia de la ampliación de sus distribuciones, obtenidos durante el estudio de fototrampeo realizado en el área natural protegida (ANP) sierra Navachiste, Sinaloa, en el noroeste de México, en periodo de un año y siete meses (2017-2018). El registro de estas especies en la sierra Navachiste, hace referencia a la importancia de esta ANP, la cual permite mantener diferentes organismos de vida silvestre que quedaron aislados en este hábitat, particularmente los mamíferos carnívoros.
