Abstract: The oscillations of the vacuum angle 8 due to a cosmological axion field will induce oscillating electric dipoles onto nuclei. We discuss the observability of the resulting nuclear dipole radiation.The a~i o n ' ,~ is generally thought to be the most attractive solution to the strong CP problem. Nevertheless, no positive hint for its existence has been obtained so far.
