Novel Quaternary Chalcogenide/Reduced Graphene Oxide-Based Asymmetric Supercapacitor with High Energy Density

Abstract: In this work we have synthesized quaternary chalcogenide CuNiSnS (QC) nanoparticles grown in situ on 2D reduced graphene oxide (rGO) for application as anode material of solid-state asymmetric supercapacitors (ASCs). Thorough characterization of the synthesized composite validates the proper phase, stoichiometry, and morphology. Detailed electrochemical study of the electrode materials and ASCs has been performed. The as-fabricated device delivers an exceptionally high areal capacitance (655.1 mF cm), which is… Show more

“…Energy storage is a vital link in energy system, which offers effective solution to storing and using renewable sources, such as solar and wind energy . Among energy storage devices, supercapacitors (SCs) has been considered as one of the most promising candidates, relying on their fast charging‐discharging capability, simple assembly process, security and reliability . However, most of SCs have a clear limitation to achieving high energy density due to the narrow working voltages (<1.2 V) of used aqueous electrolytes.…”

“…The capacitance preservation at 50 mV s -1 of the CuMnO 2 /NF and CuMnO 2 -rGO/NF electrodes were 60% and 67% of that at 5 mV s -1 , respectively. Besides, the positions of the redox peaks showed a slight shift upon increasing the scan rate owing to diffusion polarization effect [45], while these CV curves maintain a similar shape, indicating the considerable kinetic reversibility and rate capability of the composite.…”

“…The maximum consultant power garage structures are supercapacitors and secondary batteries. Supercapacitors have big energy densities and speedy charge‐discharge rates those have enabled cellular applications, which include energy source for the electric car industry 86 . The call for carbon emission suppression has brought on the cutting‐edge hobby in hybrid‐powered automobiles, which can be occupying a growing percentage of the market.…”
