Novel Control Method for Overhead Crane's Load Stability

Abstract: Nowadays, cranes are widely employed in many fields of the industry and its utilization represents a large financial influence. The investment on cranes, for example, on docks are mainly associated with the time required for the positioning of the cargos. The objective in this experiment was to develop the control of a system to minimize the stabilization time of a load swinging due to crane movement using a controller created from a Lyapunov function. A metal structure was used with a pendulum, attached to a … Show more

“…However, the load is prone to swaying due to suspending mechanism. is load swaying disturbs the precise positioning, and there is a risk of its collision with other objects on the factory floor [1][2][3]. erefore, in the operation of an overhead traveling crane, one of the basic skills is the suppression of load sway.…”

“…At present, there are many researches about cranes. Some studies 13 focused on the control of the load deflection, while some studies 46 discussed the dynamic responses of the crane structure. These studies solved many problems about the operation schemes and structural design of the crane.…”

“…At present, there are many researches about cranes. Some studies [1][2][3][4] focused on the control of the load deflection considering the trolley moving while the crane hoisting or lowering, while some studies [5][6][7][8] discussed the dynamic responses of the crane structure. These studies solved many problems about the operation schemes and structural designs of the cranes.…”
