6RESUMO INTRODUÇÃO: Doenças respiratórias podem comprometer diversos sistemas do nosso corpo, o respiratório é o principal, sendo a dispneia um dos sintomas mais comuns. O impacto da dispneia na vida diária é frequentemente classificado com escala modificada do Medical Research Council (mMRC). Dependendo de sua severidade, a dispneia pode afetar a capacidade funcional de exercício (CFE) e impactar na qualidade de vida relacionada à saúde (QVRS) do indivíduo. OBJETIVO: Comparar a QVRS e a CFE entre indivíduos com condições de saúde respiratórias estratificados de acordo com a classificação na escala mMRC. MÉTODOS: Estudo transversal realizado com indivíduos com condições respiratórias crônicas que participaram da avaliação para participar de um programa de reabilitação. Foram avaliadas características sociodemográficas, escala mMRC (pontuação de 0 a 4), CFE (teste do degrau de 6 minutos -TD6min), e QVRS (Saint George's Respiratory Questionnaire -SGRQ, com sua pontuação variando de 0 a 100). RESULTADOS: Foram incluídos 18 participantes, com idade média 47 ± 15 anos, 78% do sexo feminino, possuindo em sua maioria caracterização de condição pós-Covid-19 (50%). Indivíduos com pior classificação na escala mMRC tiveram valores estatisticamente piores no TD6min. Não houve diferença estatística para a QVRS, embora as diferenças sejam clinicamente relevantes. CONCLUSÃO: Os resultados preliminares sugerem que a dispneia avaliada pela escala mMRC parece ser capaz de discriminar diferentes níveis de CFE e QVRS em indivíduos com condições de saúde respiratórias crônicas.
