Abstract: Over half of the number of Trichinella pseudospiralis infective L1 larvae recovered from host carcasses by pepsin-HCl digestion were isolated from homogenized carcasses incubated in HBSS. More worms isolated by the latter method were viable compared to those isolated by pepsin-HCl digestion.
