“…29 Another Cochrane systemic review of the effects of non-pharmacologic interventions for the treatment of chronic neuropathic and nociceptive pain in people living with spinal cord injury (SCI) found that most studies represented the observed treatment effects and trials using acupuncture, self-hypnosis, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), or a cognitive behavioral program and provided no evidence that these interventions reduce chronic pain. 30 Our study showed no statistically significant reduction in standardized QST across the different treatment groups and QST domains at any outcome assessment visits (visit 4 or visit 7). There was also no statistically significant pain reduction, temporal summation of pain, or functional scale changes across the different treatment groups.…”
