Non-coding RNAs in necroptosis, pyroptosis and ferroptosis in cancer metastasis

Abstract: Distant metastasis is the main cause of death for cancer patients. Recently, the newly discovered programmed cell death includes necroptosis, pyroptosis, and ferroptosis, which possesses an important role in the process of tumor metastasis. At the same time, it is widely reported that non-coding RNA precisely regulates programmed death and tumor metastasis. In the present review, we summarize the function and role of necroptosis, pyrolysis, and ferroptosis involving in cancer metastasis, as well as the regulat… Show more

“…10,11 On the one hand, its critical regulatory gene can promote the progression and metastasis of cancer; on the other hand, it can eliminate apoptosis tolerant cancer cells, which is why necroptosis has a dual effect on cancer. 12 The extravasation and metastasis of tumor cells are caused by endothelial cell necrosis caused by tumor cells, which requires the involvement of amyloid precursor protein and the death receptor 6. 13 According to some reports, ever-more regulators have shown anticancer effects by targeting TNF, RIPK1, RIPK3 and MLKL, closely related to necroptosis.…”

“…Different lncRNAs regulate the expression of genes through epigenetic regulation or transcriptional alternation, and the aberrant expression of lncRNAs is closely linked to tumorigenesis, metastasis, and chemoresistance of cancer 12‐14 . Up to date, it has been reported that some lncRNAs engaged in modulating the process of necroptosis by interacting with miRNA to regulate necroptosis‐related genes products 15‐17 . Given that, further insight into the function of necroptosis‐related lncRNAs in BC may provide novel approach for precise treatment and individualized management.…”

“…Not only it does play an important role in infectious diseases, but is also associated with cardiovascular diseases, central nervous system diseases, and tumors [ 15–17 ]. Pyroptosis is involved in tumorigenesis, growth, and metastasis [ 18 ]. Pyroptosis, on the one hand, stalls the growth of tumor cells and exhibits anti-tumor activity [ 19 , 20 ].…”
