“…This paper extends the results reported in [35] for actuator efficiency dependence from different operation parameters (energy release, forcing frequency, duty cycle, electrode location). It was demonstrated that actuator efficiency can be appreciably increased as compared with results achieved in [35] by optimization of the location of actuator electrodes and operation conditions. Experiments have shown that there are optimal parameters for amplitude, frequency and duty cycle of applied voltage and the most optimal location of the electrodes.…”

“…The paper [14] deals with the problem of control of instability waves in turbulent jets and expose the direction of further research in the field of application of plasma actuators to the problem of jet noise mitigation by means of close-loop active control system, because instability waves in the shear layer of turbulent jet are believed to be an important source of jet noise for aircraft engine. In [35] it was reported that HF DBD actuator allows to decrease acoustical noise level of cylinder in cross-flow with velocity up to 80 m s −1 for value about 3.5 dB at spectral maximum range. The aim of that work was investigation of HF DBD actuator noise control authority for flow velocity which is of interest for a practical application (for example aircraft approach speed).…”

“…In this work, plasma actuators have been used to reduce the energy of perturbations generated by surface roughness, by up to 70%, in three different geometries. Moralev et al [56,144,156] reported generation of boundary layer perturbations using constricted RF SDBD discharges. It was shown that these perturbations are inherently 3D.…”
