Abstract:Long, non-coding (Inc) RNAs emerge as crucial regulators of gene expression. Their ability to interact with DNA and protein mediates the recruitment of regulators to defined chromosomal loci. LncRNAs are particularly abundant in brain tissues where they are involved in cell specification. We described a novel lncRNA, RUS (RNA upstream to Slitrk3), which interacts with epigenetic regulators and contributes to shaping the gene expression program of neural precursor cells towards neurogenesis.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
