Next-Generation Molecular Imaging of Thyroid Cancer

Abstract: An essential aspect of thyroid cancer (TC) management is personalized and precision medicine. Functional imaging of TC with radioiodine and [18F]FDG has been frequently used in disease evaluation for several decades now. Recently, advances in molecular imaging have led to the development of novel tracers based on aptamer, peptide, antibody, nanobody, antibody fragment, and nanoparticle platforms. The emerging targets—including HER2, CD54, SHP2, CD33, and more—are promising targets for clinical translation soon… Show more

“…Contrast Media & Molecular Imaging employed in the early diagnosis and treatment of malignancies, plays a significant role in the process of tumor metastasis [14,15]. Pertuzumab is used as a targeted substance for specific binding with HER2, which can achieve specific binding with HER2 receptor on the surface of tumor cells.…”

“…Changes in the expression of functional tumor biomarkers may occur earlier than changes in lesion size as assessed by conventional morphological imaging 126 . In recent decades, molecular nuclear medicine imaging, especially immunoPET imaging, has become an increasingly popular approach to help clinicians locate biomarkers and potential therapeutic targets 128 . Specific and highly expressed biomarkers are expected to be the potential targets of immunePET imaging.…”

One of the histological hallmark features of PDAC is the pronounced TME that dynamically evolves in the process of tumor progression.…”
