“…The key research aims are therefore to determine which factors are currently encouraging or limiting tour operators to be more responsible and then to establish if these factors are likely to become more or less pressing in the future. LITERATURE REVIEW Jones et al (1997) estimated that there are approximately twelve million overseas package holidays sold each year in the UK, of which about 60% are controlled by the top five tour operators (Klemm & Parkinson, 1999). Further, an attempted takeover bid would have increased the industrial concentration to just four had it 4 not been for intervention by the European Union (EU).…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…This model indicates the unique conditions prevailing in service industries, because it places more emphasis on user and employee involvement and interaction during the development process. Jones (1996), based on research in the fast food sector (Wan and Jones 1993), flight catering (Jones 1995) and tourism operations (Jones et al 1997), proposed that the 15-stage process, shown in Figure 14.1, is highly contingent. It should be thought of as a checklist of options rather than as a rigid script to follow.…”
