Abstract: Abstract:Polyaniline is known to be a true metal, though a nanometal. Previous experimental and theoretical evidence is reviewed. Two important structural features are presented, which have not publicly been discussed so far: (a) The formation of complexes between polyaniline and metals (Cu, Fe, Zn, In, etc.) which are crucial for most practical applications of the organic metal, polyaniline; and (b) a model for the polyaniline chain structure within the smallest morphological unit, the roughly 10 nm primary p… Show more

“…Other studies have shown that the poly(acrylic acid) monomer structure chains should be relatively extended as microhelices at low concentrations. It was also found that a long helix was formed after the arrangement of the short helices, while the dispersion of polyaniline was produced [45,46]. The polymer blends as shown in Fig.…”

“…Stable dispersions of PANI nanoparticles in both aqueous and organic solvents were also recently prepared [23,24]. The processability of the soluble forms and dispersions of PANI is a useful property in practical applications in comparison to many CPs, which are not processable.…”

“…A discussion on thin films made of electrochemical polymerization of active monomers (e.g., aniline) will be only briefly covered here. Most products of these electrochemical polymerizations are sparingly soluble [411] but electron-conducting in doped states (e.g., polyaniline, polypyrrole, and polythiophene) [412][413][414][415][416][417][418]. Then, such or other electrode systems provide switchable wetting and surface energy ("electrowetting"), which can be traced back in some cases to reorientation of amphiphiles on the surface [419].…”
