The ectoparasitic mite Podapolipus khorasanicus Hajiqanbar n. sp. (Acari: Heterostigmatina: Podapolipidae), detached from abdominal tergites of Opatroides punctulatus Brülle, 1832 (Coleóptera: Tenebrionidae) in northeastern Iran, is described and compared with related species. A key to world species ofthe coleopteran parasites ofthe genus Podapolipus Rovelli & Crassi (1888) is provided, and their distribution and host range are discussed.
