New Architecture of Remote Laboratories Multiuser based on Embedded Web Server

Abstract: Abstract-This paper presents a new architecture for multiuser remote laboratory based on an embedded web server used for experiment with the MCS-51 microcontroller system. The design for the remote lab uses a green computing approach, with the aim of reducing energy consumption, lowering the cost of procurement systems, improving performance and use, and also saving space. The remote lab system uses multi user and multi device architecture to support collaborative work and improve scalability. The design of th… Show more

“…In [20], the field‐programmable gate array‐based VHDL remote laboratory is operated by students at the Open University of Catalonia. There are various technologies, such as socket, applet, ajax, CORBA, LabVIEW, and so forth, in web programming for use in the remote laboratory [34]. IoT and LabVIEW have led to significant development in the field of remote laboratories [5].…”

“…Within this project a Raspberry Pi was utilized as the system controller as well as the web server. Raspberry Pi, a small-scale computing system with its own operating system, replaced a full-scale computer/server, thereby reducing the cost and complexity of the remote laboratory design [23] DOI: 10.4236/ait.2021.113007 100 Advances in Internet of Things [24]. The developed experiments can be accessed remotely over the web using a suitable graphical user interface (GUI).…”

“…An effective method for authenticating and gaining access to remote servers storing objects and experimental data is discussed in [1]. In [2] a multiuser architecture based on a remote server, enabling the calculation and analysis of experimental data (with the possibility of easy scaling) is presented. Other studies related to the database design process are also discussed in a number of research papers.…”
