Neutrino Mass Spectrum from Gravitational Waves Generated by Double Neutrino Spin‐Flip in Supernovae

Abstract: The supernova (SN ) neutronization phase produces mainly electron ( e ) neutrinos, the oscillations of which must take place within a few mean free paths of their resonance surface located nearby their neutrinosphere. The latest research on the SN dynamics suggests that a significant part of these e can convert into right-handed neutrinos by virtue of the interaction of the electrons and the protons flowing with the SN outgoing plasma, whenever the Dirac neutrino magnetic moment is of strength < 10 À11 B , wit… Show more

“…The presence of three different types of radiation associated with CCSNe makes them ideal objects for multi-messenger astronomy [1]. Simultaneous observations of the multi-messengers from CCSNe can reveal not only the details of the supernova mechanism [2] but * kyakunin@utk.edu also may shed light on fundamental properties of neutrinos [3]. Gravitational radiation signals are particularly interesting among them because they are the only signals that provide deep insight into the multidimensional dynamics of the supernova core.…”

“…Finally we theoretically study the effects of rotation on the neutrino energy deposition. 1 The propagation of neutrino in gravitational fields has been studied both in GR [58][59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71] and in modified gravity [72][73][74]. 0123456789().…”

“…After the recent success in experimental studies, it has been determined that neutrinos are massive particles and have nonzero mixing between different flavors that leads to flavor oscillations. External fields can significantly modify the process of neutrino oscillations and therefore the gravitational interaction can have observable effects on the propagation and oscillation of neutrino flavor [81][82][83][84][85][86][87][88][89][90][91][92][93][94][95]. In particular, we will take into account the contribution of GW following Ref.…”
