“…In our properly followed up patients, penicillin proved more effective in early forms, in which complete recovery was frequently achieved [4, 9, 27, 28]. On the contrary, full recovery was exceptional in late forms and only partial benefits were obtained in some GP forms [27, 28, 29], as in our series. As a whole, we found a 13.3% rate of therapeutic failures by both clinical and CSF criteria, and 3.4% if only the clinical course was considered.…”
