Neonatal Appendicitis With Necrotizing Enterocolitis

Abstract: Acute appendicitis is an infrequent condition in neonates, especially in term infants. With around 100 cases in the last century and no specific diagnostic tool, this case report is an addition to the existing literature that helps in our understanding of the disease. A preterm infant who had greenish aspirates and dilated bowel loops on abdominal x ray and was treated on the lines of necrotizing enterocolitis failed to improve. “…Over time, chest pain might develop as a result of the reduction in blood flow to the heart caused by this plaque accumulation. If the artery is blocked, which is typically the consequence of a blood clot, oxygen cannot reach the heart, which may lead to a heart attack and/or injury to the heart tissue [3]. Maintaining the integrity of blood vessels protects the human body from these changes by preventing vascular tone, inflammation, and platelet aggregation.…”

“…The acquired Bascom theory states that spherical glutei and deep grooves between them create a vacuum for hair that forms foreign body reaction from hair loss of the scalp according to Karydakis theory [14][15] The surgical technique preferred by every surgeon must be simple, not associated with complications, less pain, short hospital time, and rapid healing without recurrence. Nevertheless, the recurrence is higher in the ZP compared to the Bilateral subcutaneous fatty ap [16][17].…”

“…For many years, direct vision internal urethrotomy (DVIU) has been used for the initial management of short-segment urethral strictures. It is a convenient and minimally invasive method with a high short-term success rate of 80−100% [2,[6][7][8][9][10]. However, there is a high recurrence rate of urethral strictures following DVIU due to the reconstruction of scar tissue, from 20 to 60%, which is an ongoing problem with a high-cost burden for patients [11,12].…”
