Near Unit Efficiency in Microresonator Combs

Abstract: We optimize the pump-laser conversion efficiency in soliton frequency combs by controlling the nonlinear shift, external coupling, and bidirectional pump field with photonic-crystal resonators. We achieve and explain >86% pump-to-comb conversion efficiency.
