Recent dynamic development of abrasive hybrid manufacturing processes results from application of a new difficult for machining materials and improvement of technological indicators of manufacturing processes already applied in practice. This tendency also occurs in abrasive machining processes which are often supported by ultrasonic vibrations, electrochemical dissolution or by electrical discharges. In the paper we present the review of new results of investigations and new practical applications of Abrasive Electrodischarge (AEDM) and Electrochemical (AECM) Machining.

) - Instytut Technologii Maszyn i Automatyzacji Produkcji Politechniki Krakowskiej W ostatnich latach obserwuje się dynamiczny rozwój komunikacji lotniczej, co bezpośrednio wpływa na wzrost produkcji samolotów, a tym samym elementów silników lotniczych. Elementy te są wykonywane ze specjalnych, trudno obrabialnych materiałów stopowych i kompozytowych. Ich efektywne kształtowanie metodami tradycyjnymi jest utrudnione i z tego względu często wykorzystuje się obróbkę elektroerozyjną, w której naddatek usuwany jest w wyniku topienia i parowania. To jednak powoduje powstanie na powierzchni obrabianej warstwy wierzchniej o niekorzystnych właściwościach użytkowych. Można je istotnie poprawić przez obróbkę hybrydową elektroerozyjno-ścierną, której nowe zastosowania opisano w artykule. SŁOWA KLUCZOWE: obróbka hybrydowa, szlifowanie i wycinanie elektroerozyjno-ścierne, obróbka elektroerozyjna w mieszaninie dielektryka i ścierniwa, obróbka specjalnych materiałów Dynamic development of airplane communication takes place in recent years, which directly results in increase of aircraft and aircraft engine parts production rates. Parts of engines are usually made of special alloys or composite materials difficult to machine with use of traditional methods. For efficient machining of these materials electrodischarge process is applied where allowance material is removed by melting and evaporation effect. However, this method of material removal leaves low quality of the machined surface. The surface finish can be significantly improved by applying the hybrid abrasive/electrodischarge process. Presented in the paper is the new practical application of this process. KEYWORDS: hybrid machining, abrasive/electrodischarge grinding and wire cutting, electrodischarge machining in the mix of dielectric and abrasive grains, machining of special materials Rozwój procesów wytwarzania jest stymulowany przez konstruktorów nowoczesnych urządzeń dla przemysłu kosmicznego, zbrojeniowego, lotniczego, motoryzacyjnego, medycznego oraz branży AGD. Przykładowo: przemysł medyczny potrzebuje aparatury, narzędzi (np. chirurgicznych) oraz implantów wykonanych z materiałów charakteryzujących się biokompatybilnością, odpornością na płyny ustrojowe czy brakiem szkodliwego działania na organizm człowie-ka. Materiały, z których produkowane są współczesne konstrukcje, powinny być tak dobrane, by zapewnić właściwe cechy użytkowe (trwałość, niezawodność, funkcjonalność, estetykę), a także niskie koszty produkcji i eksploatacji. Konstruktorzy powinni również uwzględniać w swoich opracowaniach najnowsze osiągnięcia naukowe, szczególnie w zakresie mikro-i nanotechnologii. Umożliwiają one m.in. miniaturyzację elementów, a tym samym -zmniejszenie zużycia materiałów i energii.Aby sprostać współczesnym wymaganiom, intensywnie rozwija się wszystkie metody wytwarzania, a zwłaszcza metody hybrydowe, w których kształtowanie elementu odbywa się z jednoczesnym wykorzystaniem kilku mechanizmów obróbkowych i (lub) kilku form energii [1,2]. Abstract. This project research undertakes the assessment of powder added electrical discharge machining (PMDM) with focus on effect of additive powders and circulation systems. In PMEDM process, powder can be mixed with dielectric fluid either in the main EDM tank or in a separate tank in order to improve EDM machining performance. Different designs of powder mixed EDM circulating systems such as closed and opened systems with different sizes of tank are described in literature. Various devices such as stirrer, circulating pump etc. are placed in the tank in order to ensure the uniformity of powder mixed dielectric. Each design has its advantages and disadvantages and it might affect the EDM output results. Therefore, there is a need to review the PMEDM with respect to additive powders and circulation systems in order to identify the gap and propose an alternative for improving process.
