Nasal Septal Abscess in Children

Abstract: Setting: University hospital. Patients: Six patients (5 boys and 1 girl), aged 3 to 11 years, with nasal septal abscess. Intervention: The nasal septa of 6 children with a history of nasal septal abscess and partial or complete destruction of nasal septal cartilage were reconstructed with autologous cartilage grafts of the auricle or rib fixed on polydioxanone plate. Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD.
