Multivariate optimization of mercury determination by flow injection-cold vapor generation-inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry

Abstract: In this work a procedure for mercury determination by Flow Injection-Cold Vapor Generation-Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (FI-CVG-ICP OES) has been developed. The system uses a small homemade glass separator constructed to drive the Hg vapor to the plasma. An evolutionary operation factorial design was used to evaluate the optimal experimental conditions for mercury vapor generation, aiming at the low consumption of reagents, the improvement of the analytical signal and consequently g… Show more

“…[1][2][3][4] Because of its medical and ecosystem relevance, the detection of Hg 2+ has been investigated extensively. 5 Conventional atomic spectroscopic techniques, including atomic absorption spectroscopy, [5][6][7][8][9][10][11] atomic emission spectroscopy, 5,6,[12][13][14][15][16] and atomic uorescence spectroscopy, [17][18][19][20] have been commonly applied in detecting Hg 2+ . In addition, inductive coupled plasma mass spectrometry 6,21,22 and various electrochemical methods have been widely used in analyzing Hg 2+ levels.…”
