“…Multiple treatment modalities have been proposed with no consistent efficacy: puncture and drainage (a simple and low-cost process, but it will only yield a transient improvement, with an early recurrence [3, 5]), surgical excision [3, 8], CO 2 and other lasers [5,8,9,10,11], microdermabrasion and electrodesiccation (easy to perform and low cost, but with a high risk of scarring [12]) as well as topical atropine [13, 14] and scopolamine [15, 16]. …”

“…The treatment regimen of multiple eccrine hidrocystoma is difficult. Based on previous reports, 12,13 , 14 we used topical 1% atropine in hydrophilic base twice daily for 3 weeks in one patient, with no significant improvement. Systemic effects of topical atropine can occur, 14 but none were encountered in the treated patient.…”

“…Topical scopolamine has been reported to be effective by some, 14 but not by others 13 . A hot environment and factors that increase perspiration should be avoided, as they worsen the condition.…”

“…Simple needle puncture induces only transient improvement. Topical scopolamine has been reported to be effective by some, although the treatment has not been universally successful 6,7 . Some articles suggested that the use of topical atropine offered an effective treatment option and the few adverse effects were either asymptomatic or well tolerated 5,8 .…”
