Multifunctional SrTiO3/NiZn ferrite/POE composites with eletromagnetic and flexible properties for RF applications

Abstract: Multifunctional dielectric composites with electromagnetic and flexible properties for RF applications were investigated. A kind of low loss flexible dielectric and magnetic composite with SrTiO 3 (STO) ultrafine particles and NiZn ferrite (NZO) ultrafine particles embedded in a Thermoplastic Polyolefin Elastomer (POE) matrix was fabricated using the extrusion technology. The dielectric and magnetic properties of the as-prepared composites with different volume fraction of ceramic fillers were studied. The res… Show more

“…T HE magneto-dielectric materials have been widely studied in recent years to meet the requirements of circuit dimension shrinking and high level of passive integration. [1][2][3] Generally, the polymer-based composite and the multiphase cofired ceramic are the two main important ways which are commonly used in preparation of the magneto-dielectric materials. 4,5 The composites based on the polymer matrix always have low magnetic and dielectric loss tangents with similar values of permittivities (e 0 ) and permeabilities (l 0 ) within a certain frequency range.…”

“…For the polymer‐based magneto‐dielectric composites, lower dielectric and magnetic loss tangent are often observed. However, the permittivity and permeability of them are low due to the low volume fraction of magnetic phase in these composites . Also, these polymer‐based composites are unable to be used above 200°C.…”

“…However, the traditional ferrites (Mn–Zn, Ni–Zn ferrite, for example) with high permeability always show high dielectric loss from low‐frequency range to microwave region . Moreover, although the popular magneto–dielectric composites in polymer matrix possess lower dielectric and magnetic loss, their permittivity and permeability are also very low, which are limited by the low volume fraction of the magnetic ceramic powders . Meanwhile, these composites can hardly be used at a high temperature above 200°C.…”
