Abstract: OBJETIVOS: compreender a representação social que mulheres casadas, em situação de pobreza, possuem acerca da AIDS. Dessa forma, se espera contribuir para que o enfrentamento da epidemia se dê de forma mais sintonizada com a realidade em que essa acontece. MÉTODOS: foram realizadas 16 entrevistas, com mulheres em situação de pobreza, com relação conjugal estável.
