“…Moxifloxacin undergoes glucuronidation (mediated by UGT1A1/1A3) and biliary excretion, bypassing renal clearance ( Annisa et al, 2022 ). These findings are consistent with clinical observations ( Nori et al, 2004 ; Verma et al, 2009 ). These results underscore the importance of baseline liver function assessment and tailored monitoring strategies in drug-susceptible tuberculosis treatment, especially in high-risk populations with predisposing factors for liver injury.…”

Exaggerated anticipatory anxiety is common in social anxiety disorder (SAD). Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD. The current study examined the time course and magnitude of activity in threat processing brain regions during speech anticipation in socially anxious individuals and healthy controls (HC). Method Participants (SAD n = 58; HC n = 16) underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during which they completed a 90s control anticipation task and 90s speech anticipation task.

“…This is consistent with recent evidence that links older age to the risk of developing cholestatic injury during hepatotoxicity regardless of the implicated drug [11,26], and in spite of the fact that moxifloxacin-related liver injury, unlike amoxicillin-clavulanate [11], is reported to be hepatocellular [27]. In this case, DILI occurred in an elderly patient and was manifested as cholestatic damage in both episodes.…”

“…Scan revealed mild splenomegaly [49]. This agreed with the findings of Nori et al (2004) [50] who documented a case of fulminant hepatic failure characterized by elevated liver enzymes in a patient treated with moxifloxacin. Similar observations were also reported by some researchers [51].…”
