MoSe2/N‐Doped Carbon as Anodes for Potassium‐Ion Batteries

Abstract: Potassium‐ion batteries (PIBs) have attracted considerable attention due to the low redox potential, low price, and abundance, in comparison to lithium and sodium. Herein, a novel potassium MoSe2/N‐C battery with a new electrolyte, 1 m potassium bis(fluoro‐slufonyl)imide in ethyl methyl carbonate, is reported. The MoSe2/N‐C composite, which consists of carbon‐coated MoSe2 nanosheets, is synthesized through solvothermal and annealing method. As an anode material for PIBs, it exhibits an outstanding rate perform… Show more

“…[32] Compared with Sb 2 O 3 -RGO composite, Sb 2 O 3 exhibits some other impurity peaks, indicating that other phase of Sb 2 O 3 can be generated. [35] To confirm the content of Sb 2 O 3 in composite, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) curve of Sb 2 O 3 -RGO is shown in Figure S3, Supporting Information. Two weak vibration modes observed in the range of 10-300 cm −1 are identified for the cubic Sb 2 O 3 .…”

“…At the beginning of insertion reaction, the electrode maintains its cubic symmetry. [35] Besides Cu and Se as the final products, additional reflections at 29.7° and 31.0° can be observed at the low discharge potential of 0.01 V. After careful indexing, these peaks can be attributed to the formation of intermediate phases K 0.5 CuSe with space group of Fmmm. According to the conversion reaction, CuSe is expected to transform into Cu and K 2 Se phases.…”

“…[50] The content of N is 2.5% in overall material (atomic %). [53,54] After the first cycle, CV profiles showed little change, implying the high reversible electrochemical reaction of FeSe 2 . [51] Previous literature reports that N-doping can improve the conductivity and increase active sites of materials, which is beneficial to the electrochemical properties.…”
