Modeling organizational intelligence using DEMATEL method in Iranian public universities

Abstract: Purpose-This paper aims to investigate a novel model for organizational intelligence (OI) in Iranian public universities. OI is an effective concept in organizational behavior for reshaping the organizational rules. Multidimensional nature of OI makes it a very useful management tool. Design/methodology/approach-This model is investigated by using an expert panel opinion and decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory technique based on Iranian university professors' opinions. Findings-The proposed model c… Show more

“…It examines effectively causal relationship structure and importance order between these criteria by using matrix operation with certain scores. This method depends on the basis of graph theory, categorizes criteria cause (influential) and effect (influenced) groups (Malekzadeh et al , 2016). Constructing a strategic map to decision-makers for a greater understanding and interpreting of the causal interrelationship among them is one of the most significant characteristics of the technique.…”

“…The expert’s judgements are subjective and having some imprecisions and vagueness in the real-life situation. Fuzzy set theory can handle vagueness and imprecision in decision-making (Seçme et al , 2009; Malekzadeh et al , 2016). Two types of fuzzy number namely triangular and trapezoidal fuzzy numbers are commonly used (Tan et al , 2010).…”

“…DEMATEL, an MCDM method, is proposed to develop the structural model showing causal relationship among criteria (Malekzadeh et al, 2016;Aggarwal and Srivastava, 2019). This method has been widely used for selection purposes (Singh and Bhanot, 2020).…”

“…This method has been widely used for selection purposes (Singh and Bhanot, 2020). The popular applications of DEMATEL can be seen in identifying global manager's competencies Analysis of workforce attributes for Industry 4.0 (Wu and Lee., 2007), supplier selection (Dalalah et al, 2011), risks evaluation of knowledgebased networks (Abbasi et al, 2013), prioritizing environmental performance of PCB industry (Tsai et al, 2015), Lean Six Sigma project selection (Vinodh and Sawarnakar, 2015) and organizational intelligence modelling (Malekzadeh et al, 2016).…”
