MULTICRITERARY ANALYSIS: MODELS OF ENVIRONMENTAL INTERESTS AND AREAS THAT ARE SUITABLE FOR URBAN EXPANSION IN THE BASIN OF THE CÓRREGO DO LENHEIROThe current challenge is manage and plan the urban sprawl in areas of storm water basins with extensions significant already urbanized, whose impacts and precarious infrastructure of rainwater collection causes socio-economic losses in rainy periods. The purpose of this article is to present the methodology to generate synthesis models as planning support and urban and environmental management, in river basins with this reality. The study area was the Basin of Lenheiro's Stream, located in the city of São João del-Rei, in state of Minas Gerais, whole first urban nucleus arose in the year of 1713, because the gold exploration. The theoreticalmethodological ground was based on the General Theory of Systems applied to the Geography. By means of the multicriterary analysis and the Hierarchical Analysis of Weights were generated models representing the areas: susceptible to the floods; conducive to the urban sprawl and of environmental interest. The results indicate that the models can contribute in urban and environmental planning by geotechnical studies. It is concluded that the modeling can support the managers in the taking measures that enables a urban more effective planning.
