ρ0photoproduction in AuAu collisions atsNN=62.4GeV measured with the STAR detector

Abstract: Vector mesons may be photoproduced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions when a virtual photon emitted by one nucleus scatters from the other nucleus, emerging as a vector meson. The STAR Collaboration has previously presented measurements of coherent ρ 0 photoproduction at center of mass energies of 130 GeV and 200 GeV in AuAu collisions. Here, we present a measurement of the cross section at 62.4 GeV; we find that the cross section for coherent ρ 0 photoproduction with nuclear breakup is 10.5 ± 1.5 ± 1.6 mb a… Show more

“…The ratio |B/A| is lower than what was found by STAR with Au targets, |B/A| = 0.81-0.89 (GeV/c 2 ) −1/2 for W γN in the range 7-12 GeV [8][9][10]. The result from ZEUS with proton targets for W γN in the range 55-90 GeV shows that |B/A| varies with the γ-proton momentum tranfer [27].…”
