Furthermore, this arthropod mostly inhabits the nests of birds and parasitizes chicks during rearing (Aramburú et al, 2003;Arrabal et al, 2012;Lareschi et al, 2017;Horn et al, 2018;Bassini-Silva et al, 2019), with lower prevalence over fledglings and adults (Arce et al, 2018;Mori et al, 2019).
