Microsomal epoxide hydrolase polymorphism as a risk factor for ovarian cancer

Abstract: Microsomal epoxide hydrolase (EPHX) is one of many enzymes involved in the metabolism of endogenous and exogenous toxicants. Polymorphic forms of the human EPHX gene have been described that vary in enzymatic activity, and one, Tyr113His, has been associated with hepatocellular carcinoma susceptibility. Neuroimaging studies have revealed altered neural activity in response to social stimuli in SAD, but fewer studies have examined neural activity during anticipation of feared social stimuli in SAD.
