Abstract: Unchecked disposal of substances or compounds such as organic/inorganic heavy metals, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), herbicides, pesticides, phenolic and nitrogenous compounds, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) ubiquitously present in the environment poses a global concern.
