MHD Heat and Mass Transfer on Stretching Sheet with Variable Fluid Properties in Porous Medium

Abstract: An analysis is carried out on steady two dimensional stagnation point flow of an incompressible conducting viscous fluid with variable properties over a stretching surface embedded in a saturated porous medium. The flow model is subjected to (i) transverse magnetic field, (ii) variable viscosity and thermal conductivity, (iii) thermodiffusion (Soret effect), (iv) stretching of both plate and free stream (v) pressure gradient in the flow direction is considered non-zero. The Runge-Kutta fourth order method with… Show more

“…This is very essential when working with products that produce heat, such as electronic gadgets and fire and heat safety materials. Some remarkable work has been done by Chiam, 17 Swain et al, 18 Reddy et al, 19 and Hamid et al 20 past a stretching sheet with consideration of variable fluid properties. Sharma and Singh 21 considered the MHD flow near a stagnation point past a linearly stretching sheet.…”

“…Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) nanofluid flow on a stretching sheet is of great interest in the field of engineering and technology especially extrusion of polymer sheet from expire, aerodynamic extrusion of plastic sheets, geothermal systems etc. Swain et al [1] have studied the MHD heat and mass transfer on stretching sheet with variable viscosity as well as thermal conductivity. The thermo-diffusion has also been taken care of.…”
