Methods of Increasing the Efficiency of Cogeneration Based Energy Equipment

Abstract: The evaluation of the performance characteristics of the device has a many type, depending on the monitored parameters. In the field of continuous measurements there is a quantum of measurement systems that allow long-term tracking and feedback. Part of the submitted contribution concerns the creation of a cogeneration unit model to monitor the flue gas pathways in relation to the production of pollutants in a nondestructive method. In the case of non-destructive monitoring and interventions in the objects, th… Show more

“…The key step in achieving a relevant multiparametric optimization of the output qualitative parameter SR of the machined surface and the output quantitative performance parameter MRR of the electrical discharge process is the careful design of Multiple Regression Models (MRMs). Therefore, deterministic methods were applied in the design, which, unlike classic optimization methods, are not subject to such strict mathematical logic [53,54]. However, classical methods based on gradient are not always suitable for modeling because it is sometimes difficult to obtain relevant gradient data, thereby making it impossible to obtain objective functions [55][56][57].…”

“…Their advantage over synthetic zeolite is better heat resistance and lower price. Among the applications of natural zeolites, their use for energy transfer in energy conversations and heat exchange systems is noteworthy [7,8,9].…”

“…Large combustion engines using natural gas as fuel, producing several MWs of electric energy, can benefit from very high electric and heat efficiencies. Electric efficiency can exceed 40% or even 45% and the total efficiency of over 90% can be reached [34,35]. Heat is usually available in hot water, with fresh hot water having a temperature of 90 • C while the return water temperature is 70 • C. With a certain loss in engine heat efficiency, water temperatures can be increased by up to 10 • C. Such hot water is an excellent source of heat for the heat pump.…”

“…Symbol c f uel, f in Equation (35) represents the cost of f -th fuel per GJ fuel energy and LHV f uel, f stands for its lower heating value. Different electric energy prices for generated electric energy, c el,gen , and electric energy consumed in the refinery, c el,re f , can be used in Equation 36, if the legislation imposes certain fees on in-house electricity production, as discussed in [43].…”
