Abstract: The aim of this work was to evaluate the coefficient of variation (CV) and to establish classification ranges for the main variables evaluated in experimentation with poultrys through different methods. The CV data of different response variables observed in poultry articles (broilers, laying hens, roosters and quails) published in five national journals were tabulated in a Microsoft Excel 2010® worksheet. Afterwards, they were subjected to normality evaluation through the Shapiro-Wilk method, and later the fo… Show more

“…To define the device classes based on the C u index value, we used the method of coefficients of variation classification used in research [29,[39][40][41][42]. It assumes a normal distribution of data.…”

“…4 percent and 17.7 percent indicated high variability, while values above 17.7 percent indicated very high variability. This classification was computed using the mean and standard deviation of coefficient of variability for above ground carbon sequestration in South West Mau forest between 1985 and 2015and based on the criteria proposed by Garcia in 1989 (Ferreira et al 2018;Couto et al 2013;Vaz et al 2017). The criteria are presented in table 1.…”

“…For the purpose of the SHIoT device classes definition based on the C u index value, the coefficient of variation classification method applied by Couto et al (2017), Ferreira et al (2019, Romano et al (2005), Vaz et al (2017) was used. It assumes normal data distribution.…”
